Hello! I’m Kat. I help those who have experienced grief, a major change, or a major loss construct a new identity so they feel grounded in their healing, knowing who they are and Whose they are. Specifically, I like to help people who have experienced the death of a loved one, lost a job, are newly empty nesters, or are parents of children who have recently come out as LGBTQIA+.
While you can read more about my educational background here, my most prized educational possessions are currently my Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and my Ed.D. from Creighton University.
I am currently an ELCA Segment 1 coach but stay tuned! Most of my coaching training was through the Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI) and Richmont Graduate University under Dr. Gary Collins. My spiritual direction training was through Richmont under Dr. David Benner and Dr. Gary Moon, and through the Jesuits at Creighton.
I am a Vicar at First United Lutheran Church in Kennesaw, Georgia, and am passionate about hospitality, campus ministry, suicide prevention, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy.
When I’m not coaching or “vicaring”, I am chauffeuring my kid to gymnastics and cheer, attempting to read the ENTIRE Dune saga, and watching Only Murders in the Building. For more information, visit www.katfolk.com/
Mission: Cultivating Your Calling
Vision: Nobody Journeys Alone
Coaches connect dreams to concrete actions that create change for individuals and congregations.
The ELCA's offices are located on the ancestral homelands of the Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Myaamia (Miami), Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux), Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) tribal nations. We give thanks for their presence here since time immemorial.
