Shelly has been a ministry leader for approximately 15 years at First Lutheran in western Wisconsin. She has served as a leader in the areas of children’s ministry, worship, hospitality, membership engagement, and ministry operations. Shelly’s current position is the Executive Director of Ministry, her role is to help in the integration, oversight and development of programming, staff, and ministry across the First Lutheran Campus. She works with staff, leadership council, and key leaders to help reset, reframe, right size, and prioritize needs to help the church live out the kingdom of God in the ever-changing world.
Shelly helps guide the process to clarify vision and ministry priorities to identify a next step in churches getting unstuck. Her ministry experience and Vibrant Faith Ministry Coaching School trainings as an ACC and PCC coach have helped equip her to dive deeper into an inquiry-based leadership style. Innovative actions begin with asking questions, most any problem can be solved by asking enough questions.
Asking questions opens the conversation up to new ways of assessing and framing an issue which can lead to new ways of thinking and possible solutions. Shelly can help move individuals and/or teams from wonder to action. What are the questions you need to ask to get unstuck or moving in a new direction?

The ELCA's offices are located on the ancestral homelands of the Peoria, Bodwéwadmi (Potawatomi), Myaamia (Miami), Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux), Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk), and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) tribal nations. We give thanks for their presence here since time immemorial.
