The biblical call to welcome the sojourner and love our neighbor lay at the heart of the ELCA’s ministry with migrants. We live God’s calling by advocating for fair and generous immigration policies. The AMMPARO program ensures that the church’s historic leadership in caring for migrants and refugees endures across a growing network of welcoming and sanctuary congregations and synods. All these are examples of how we can venture “towards an ever greater we” in recognition of our shared humanity.
