The Life of Faith Initiative is a grassroots effort within the ELCA. All advocates of equipping all God’s saints for the work of ministry in their everyday roles and relationships (Ephesians 4:12) are welcome to participate in the initiative, whether you are part of the ELCA or not. The purpose of the Life of Faith initiative is to stir up a culture change that frees us to make the service by the baptized in the arenas of daily life the central focus of the church’s mission. For better context, please watch the 17-minute introductory video found here prior to our gathering: https://lifeoffaith.info/.
Introducing the initiative was:
- Craig L. Nessan, Academic Dean, William D. Streng Professor for the Education and Renewal of the Church, Professor of Contextual Theology and Ethics, Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa
- Dwight L. Dubois, Pastor, served congregations in Mississippi, South Carolina, and Iowa. Former director of the Center for Renewal at Grand View University (Des Moines). Author of The Scattering: Imagining a Church that Connects Faith and Life. Coordinator of the Life of Faith Holy Innovations Project. Woodworker.
