On Wednesday, October 26, we heard from Rev. Dr. Becca Ehrlich. Minimalism is a focus on the aspects of life that matter most and intentionally removing everything else. There is a direct connection between minimalism and the Christian life. Jesus came so that we could live our lives abundantly (John 10:10), and it’s clear from reading the Gospels that the abundant life Jesus calls us to live is not about accumulating possessions, making a lot of money, or receiving worldly accolades or power. Christian minimalism aims to connect the minimalist lifestyle with our calling from Jesus to live a simpler life. This session will look at the many aspects of living more simply and intentionally, reflecting on the many ways we can incorporate Jesus' invitation to live the abundant life he described.
Becca is an ELCA pastor. She blogs about minimalism from a Christian perspective at ChristianMinimalism.com and her book, Christian Minimalism: Simple Steps for Abundant Living, was released in May 2021. She is passionate about helping folks find ways to connect with God and live more simply that make sense for their own life contexts.
We invite you to bring a spirit of curiosity to these gatherings and to all aspects of your life. What are you noticing? Where is Spirit moving? How are you being invited to participate?
