Healing-Centered Engagement, Vision Pivot: From Problem to Possibility

"We need a fundamental shift in our values -- a pivot in how we think, act, work, and connect." -- Shawn A. Ginwright, PhD

In March, we offered an Introduction to the work of Shawn A. Ginwright, PhD: From Trauma-Informed Care to Healing-Centered Engagement based on his book, The Four Pivots: Reimagining Justice, Reimagining Ourselves, and the 2024 Workshop Series hosted by Lutheran Services in America in collaboration with ELCA World Hunger: Advancing Equity: Applying Healing-centered Engagement to your Leadership Practice.

In May, we discussed the Awareness Pivot: From Lens to Mirror.

In July, we discussed the Connection Pivot: From Transactional to Transformative.

Join us as we learn together from Dr. Ginwright's book and focus on the third pivot. We invite you to read in advance Chapters 7-9 (pages 149-199) on the Vision Pivot: From Problem to Possibility, a focus on "reimagining how we think and act by shifting from 'problem fixing' to 'possibility creating.'" It's almost like coaching is in alignment with healing-centered engagement. ;)

Bring your observations and questions. In the spirit of hospitality and inclusion, we want you to know that even if you don't have this book or don't have time to read the book, the discussion will be structured to be accessible for everyone. A review of the concepts will be shared, and an invitation to reflect on how these concepts apply to your unique context will be offered.
