In March, we offered an Introduction to the work of Shawn A. Ginwright, PhD: From Trauma-Informed Care to Healing-Centered Engagement based on his book, The Four Pivots: Reimagining Justice, Reimagining Ourselves, and the 2024 Workshop Series hosted by Lutheran Services in America in collaboration with ELCA World Hunger: Advancing Equity: Applying Healing-centered Engagement to your Leadership Practice.
Join us as we learn together from Dr. Ginwright's book and focus on the first pivot. We invite you to read in advance the Introduction (pages 1-19) and the first three chapters on the Awareness Pivot: From Lens to Mirror (pages 21-88), a "shift from an external focus that limits our perception to one of honest self-reflection." Bring your observations and questions. In the spirit of hospitality and inclusion, we want you to know that even if you don't have this book yet or don't have time to read the book prior to this gathering, the discussion will be structured to be accessible for everyone.
